Jaipur: Before the assembly elections in Rajasthan, CM Ashok Gehlot is engaged in social engineering. CM Gehlot has now played the 'Maharana card' to get the votes of the Rajput caste, which is considered very influential in Rajasthan.
CM Gehlot has announced to constitute Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Board. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot recently said that the young generation is getting inspired by Maharana Pratap's sacrifice, valor and bravery by celebrating his birth anniversary every year. The saga of his bravery and sacrifice not only inspires the people of Rajasthan but also the country and abroad to move ahead with the spirit of self-respect.
Gehlot addressed the 483rd birth anniversary function of Maharana Pratap at Sukhadia Rangmanch organized by Mewar Kshatriya Mahasabha and Municipal Corporation. He said that it is the duty of the present generation to hand over this glorious saga of valor as heritage to the coming generations. He said that let us make the places Chavand, Gogunda, Haldighati etc associated with the life of Maharana Pratap, which are the identity of Mewar, as special.
Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Board
CM Gehlot announced to form Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Board. This board will make the young generation aware about Pratap's bravery. The board will prepare a plan for course content, heritage conservation, new constructions, research on various languages, publicity of the publications, national and international awards, lectures, kavi sammelans etc. This will create an atmosphere for the new generation.
Gehlot also announced development works of Samadhi of Maharana Pratap, place of coronation and other places with a cost of Rs 5 crore and allotment of land for hostel near Meera Medpat Girls' Hostel. He said that an announcement has already been made to make the Maharana Pratap panorama for Rs 4 crore and work order has also been issued.
Mewar Complex will prove effective for conservation of history
The CM said that the Mewar Complex was announced when he was the Union Minister. Under this, development of all the places related with Maharana Pratap was started from the tourism point of view. Efforts were made that domestic and foreign tourists know about the glorious history of these places. Gehlot said that the Mewar Complex will prove effective in preserving history.
Cong looking to strengthen its presence in Mewar
According to political analysts, on the formation of this board, there will be a chance to oblige the representatives of Rajput society. In fact, Maharana Pratap may be recorded in the pages of history but the 16th century warrior remains relevant in politics even today. Maharana Pratap is still relevant in Rajasthan.
In Rajasthan, the Congress is looking to strengthen its presence in Mewar, a traditionally BJP bastion. Because after appointing Gulab Chand Kataria as the Governor of Assam, it will be a big challenge for BJP to fill his place in Rajasthan politics. Congress wants to take advantage of this.
