Srichand Parmanand Hinduja, Chairman of Hinduja Group, breathed his last in London


London: Srichand Parmanand Hinduja, Chairman of the Charitable Foundation with the industrialist Hinduja Group, who hoisted the flag of India in Britain, has passed away. Srichand Parmanand Hinduja, chairman of the Hinduja Group and the eldest of the four Hinduja brothers, breathed his last in London on Wednesday, May 17. He was 87 years old. 


The spokesperson of the Hinduja family has informed about his death. It is said that Srichand Parmanand Hinduja had been ill for some time. Not only automobiles, the Hinduja Group is a leader in a total of 11 sectors such as power, oil, banking, specialty chemicals and infrastructure project development.


World's 65th richest billionaire family


He was the primary shareholder and chairman of Hinduja Group of companies. As of August 2022, together with his brother Gopichand, he was the UK's richest man. From the 1990s, he was consistently ranked among the UK and Asia's wealthiest people. In 2022, Hinduja topped the Sunday Times Rich List with an estimated wealth of £28.472 billion sterling. 


Based on the rich list compiled by Asian Media & Marketing Group, Hinduja's wealth is estimated at £25.2 billion (US$31.7 billion). The Forbes List in March 2019 ranked he and his brother Gopichand as the world's 65th richest billionaire family with an estimated wealth of $16.9 billion


Had been ailing for some time


Sanu and Vinu Hinduja said that their father passed away. Srichand Hinduja, who lives in Britain, was the eldest of four Hinduja brothers. His other brothers are Gopichand, Prakash and Ashok. He was not well for some time. In a joint statement, Sanu and Vinu said, Dad led a life of deep humility and dignity. Always tried to bring people together. Wherein both the daughters said that father helped countless lives in his life. Reached heights in business. We will always be grateful for the time we spent with him. He will be remembered for his great contribution. SP Hinduja was the eldest of four brothers of the Hinduja group. 


UK citizenship


The spokesperson said it is with great sadness that the patriarch of the family and Chairman of the Hinduja Group, SP Hinduja, has passed away. It is to be known that Srichand Parmanand Hinduja of Indian origin later took British citizenship and started living only in London. SP Hinduja's daughters paid tribute to their father, saying, "He will be remembered for his contribution in bringing Indian culture to the global stage through his work and philanthropy.”
