Raipur: In Chhattisgarh, many parts of the state are facing water shortage as summer has peaked in the state. But two more cases of reckless misuse and wastage of water have come to the fore.

Action is still going on in the matter of draining the water of the dam to find a mobile phone, in the meantime, the case of draining the water of two more dams has also come to the fore in Jashpur and Rajnandgaon districts of the state.

In Jashpur district, dam water was drained for fishing, while in Rajnandgaon, sand smugglers drained water to extract sand.

These cases have come to the fore at a time when the water crisis has deepened in most parts of the state due to the scorching heat.

The state government says that strict action will be taken against the culprits in case of water being drained from the dams.

Waste and misuse of water will not be tolerated

State Irrigation Minister Ravindra Choubey said the waste and misuse of water would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He said instructions have been given to investigate the case that has come to light in Rajnandgaon.

Choubey said the case of Jashpur was not in his knowledge, but in this case also, after getting the investigation done, action will be taken against the culprits.

He said that the officials responsible for draining the dam water to find the mobile have been suspended and fined. Apart from this, an FIR has also been registered against three people in this matter.

On 21 May, Food Inspector Rajesh Vishwas, posted at Pakhanjur in Kanker district, had gone to Paralkot reservoir with his friends for a picnic. There his expensive mobile phone fell into the dam.

Rajesh Vishwas engaged the divers of the surrounding areas to find the mobile but they could not find the mobile.
