Cyclone Biparjoy In Rajasthan: Red Alert For Barmer, Jalore, Sirohi And Pali; Trains, flights Cancelled


After Gujarat, the effect of Cyclone Biparjoy is now visible in Rajasthan. It is raining in Barmer, Sirohi, Udaipur, Jalore, Jodhpur districts since Saturday morning. The winds are blowing at a speed of 50 to 60 km per hour. During the last 24 hours, its maximum impact was seen in Jalore, Sirohi and Barmer. In these districts, 12 to 15 cm of rain was recorded.


Intermittent showers lash Sanchore in Jalore


Intermittent rains continued since Friday at Sanchore in Jalore district. There is no electricity in many villages here since last night. Here in Pathmeda, a crisis has arisen regarding fodder for 50 thousand cows. Bus and rail service has been completely stopped due to the cyclone.


Whereas in Naugama village of Dungarpur, strong winds blew and it rained late in the night. Due to strong winds, a 500-year-old mango tree uprooted and fell on the main road of the village. Which was removed by the villagers on Saturday morning with the help of JCB.


14 trains, 2 flights cancelled


The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Barmer, Jalore, Sirohi and Pali. At the same time, Railways has canceled 14 trains passing through Barmer. Similarly, two flights from Udaipur to Delhi and Mumbai have also been cancelled.


Two flights of Air India, which take off from Udaipur's Maharana Pratap Airport on Saturday, have been cancelled. According to the information, the flight from Udaipur to Delhi at 1 pm and the flight to Mumbai at 4:30 pm has been cancelled.


More than five thousand people of 5 villages of Barmer (Bakhasar, Sedwa Chauhtan, Ramsar, Dhorimna) adjacent to the Pakistan border have been shifted to safer places.


13 cm rainfall in Mount Abu, Sedwa


Due to the effect of Biparjoy, 80 percent area of Rajasthan has been covered with clouds for the last two days. Due to this system, 76 mm of rainfall occurred in Churu's Bidasar Friday night. Strong winds were blowing at a speed of 62 kmph in many areas of Sirohi.


Sedwa in Barmer and Mount Abu in Sirohi recorded maximum rainfall of 13 cm each in the last 24 hours. Apart from this, Sirohi received 2.7 cm of rain since last night. At the same time, other districts including Jodhpur, Jalore, Udaipur, Banswara, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Tonk, Rajsamand also received rainfall ranging from 1 to 30 mm.
