Gwalior: It was in the month of March 2020 when Jyotiraditya Scindia left Congress and joined the BJP.
Along with Scindia, 22 Congress MLAs of his faction also joined BJP. With this, once again the way for the formation of BJP government in Madhya Pradesh was cleared.
At the time when Jyotiraditya was joining the BJP, there was a buzz in the political circles that perhaps the Bharatiya Janata Party would assign him an important responsibility in Madhya Pradesh.
There were speculations that the leadership in the state could also be changed.
After a long speculation, Scindia was given a place in the Union Cabinet, while some of the MLAs who joined BJP along with him were inducted in Shivraj Singh Chouhan's cabinet, while some were given places in corporations and boards.
Leaders close to him who joined BJP along with Scindia also joined the new organization with their own ambitions.
Restlessness is being seen in leaders who got nothing
With time, discontent has started growing in this camp. And as the assembly elections are coming closer, a kind of 'restlessness' is being seen among the leaders who did not get anything.
Baijnath Singh Yadav was a member of the state executive of the BJP, but suddenly he announced his 'ghar wapsi' in the Congress.
And along with many other leaders of the Scindia camp, he met Madhya Pradesh Congress President Kamal Nath and took membership of the Congress.
On returning to the Congress, he said that since the year 2020, he was suffocating in the BJP, so he had to take this step.
Baijnath Singh did not just returned home, but the way he came from Gwalior to Bhopal, there was a hidden message in it.
Baijnath Singh gave a message to BJP?
The message was in the 'style' of his visit to Bhopal. Means he reached with 400 vehicles in the convoy. It was clearly visible that this message was not meant for the Congress. It seemed that this message could be for the Scindia camp, and especially for the Bharatiya Janata Party.
He also tried a kind of show of strength when he took about 2500 supporters of his constituency along with him to the state Congress headquarters.
Baijnath Singh says that when Scindia joined the BJP, it was being said that Scindia was brought in as an alternative to Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Since Shivraj had been working as the CM of the state for 16 years. According to him, the BJP was thinking like this in order to deal with the 'anti-incumbency wave'.
Although the BJP never said that Scindia would be made the Chief Minister. But the Congress leaders joining BJP with Scindia had in a way accepted that this would happen.
The leaders who are feeling disillusioned after leaving Congress probably feel that they are being ignored.
When Jyotiraditya Scindia came, his allies and supporters also came with him. Many became ministers in the state and some also got important posts.
But everyone could not be adjusted. There were also many unfit who were not able to 'adjust' in the new organization. It is natural for them to be nervous. Everyone is ambitious in politics.
Political experts say that at about 50 percent of the seats in Gwalior and Chambal there is a tussle between the old dedicated leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the leaders who joined BJP with Scindia.
Challenge before Scindia
Experts believe that Jyotiraditya Scindia has faced the biggest challenge of his political life. He also has the challenge of maintaining his image among his supporters and allies as well as his political future.
There is also a challenge in front of him that he should be able to get maximum seats in the upcoming assembly elections for the leaders who came with him in BJP.
But Bharatiya Janata Party leader Hitesh Vajpayee says that the most important thing that is looked at in elections is the 'probability of winning'.
He says that there is a claim of many leaders on one seat.
Scindia confined to his area of influence?
When Scindia was in the Congress, he was very influential within the organization. Because of his friendship with Rahul Gandhi, he used to have a different charm.
But now he may have become a Union Minister, but it is clearly visible that in the politics of Madhya Pradesh, he has remained confined to his area of influence i.e. Chambal and Gwalior.
