Bhopal: Monsoon may be running late by 8 days, but the way for it to reach Madhya Pradesh has been fixed. This time the entry of monsoon in the state will be from Betul, Chhindwara, Mandla adjoining Vidarbha of Maharashtra. Last time it came on June 22 via Malwa-Nimar.
However, this time the date of arrival of monsoon has become dependent on Cyclone Biparjoy, as the date of entry will be decided only after its departure. Right now the speed of monsoon is weak. It has not moved beyond Ratnagiri, Koppal, Footworthy and Sriharikota for the last 72 hours.
Both Bay of Bengal & Arabian Sea branches of monsoon are active
According to R Balasubrahmanyan, Director of the Meteorological Center, the Northern Limit of the monsoon was passing through these places till Wednesday. According to meteorologist Ved Prakash, this time both the Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea branches of monsoon are active. Madhya Pradesh is in the Central, due to this there is a combined effect of both here, that is, there is a possibility of speeding up of the monsoon.
Biparjoy is about to hit the coast of Gujarat. Alert has been issued in many states regarding Biparjoy storm. It will have an impact in Madhya Pradesh as well. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning in about 23 districts of MP. High speed winds and thundershowers could be experienced in many districts of the state.
