Madhya Pradesh: Illegal property of Sidhi case accused Pravesh Shukla bulldozed; CM Shivraj orders strict action; Congress torches effigy

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given instructions to give the strictest punishment to the culprit in Sidhi case. CM Shivraj said that there is no caste, no religion and no party of a criminal. A criminal is only a criminal. He said that the accused would be punished in such a way that which would set an example.

In a major crackdown on Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi urination case accused Pravesh Shukla, the state administration on Wednesday bulldozed his illegal encroachment in the district. The district administration of Sidhi bulldozed Shukla's house on Wednesday afternoon. A day earlier a video went viral where Shukla was seen urinating on a tribal man's face. Home minister Narottam Mishra ordered to demolish his illegal properties.

Cong torches effigy

Congress workers burnt the effigy of BJP outside PCC Office, in Bhopal on Wednesday.

The video gained momentum after Congress spokesperson Abbas Hafeez posted it on Twitter. Strong reactions from across political parties poured in.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, state president Kamal Nath, BSP chief Mayawati and Delhi AAP MLA Naresh Balyan slammed the BJP govt, raising questions over humanity and treatment given to tribals in Madhya Pradesh.

Regarding the viral video of Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that this is the disgusting face and real character of Bharatiya Janata Party's hatred towards tribals and Dalits.

Gandhi said in his tweet that atrocities on tribal brothers and sisters are increasing in the BJP rule. The entire humanity has been put to shame by the inhuman crime of a BJP leader in Madhya Pradesh.

Insult to tribal community, says Bhuria

The Congress on Wednesday demanded a CBI inquiry into the incident. Speaking to reporters in Bhopal, former Madhya Pradesh Congress president Kantilal Bhuria claimed the video was a few months old.

He alleged the accused BJP leader, Pravesh Shukla, made the victim submit an affidavit stating that no case should be registered against him.

Police on Wednesday arrested Shukla after the video surfaced on social media. An official on Tuesday said the action was being initiated against the accused under the stringent National Security Act.

"The incident that occurred in Sidhi is an insult to the tribal community,” said Bhuria.

Some social media posts claimed that the accused Pravesh Shukla was a representative of BJP MLA from Sidhi Kedarnath Shukla.

But when contacted, the MLA had denied the allegation. "I do not know if the victim is a tribal or not, but strict action should be taken against the accused. The accused is not my representative," Kedarnath Shukla said.
