The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 15-member squad led by Hardik Pandya for the T20I series against West Indies.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were missing from the T20I squad.
Mumbai Indians batsman Tilak Varma got his maiden call up in the Indian team.
Varma has been a notable member of the Mumbai Indians side for the past two seasons with a strike-rate of 142-plus in 47 games. He has been batting at No 5.
Along with Tilak Varma, Yashasvi Jaiswal earned his maiden T20I call-up.
The Senior Men’s Selection Committee, led by newly appointed chairman Ajit Agarkar, on Wednesday picked India’s squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against West Indies to be played in the Caribbean Islands and in Florida, USA.
Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Sanju Samson make comeback
While KKR left-hander Rinku Singh has missed out, leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi and Sanju Samson made a comeback to the side.
Along with them pacer Avesh Khan also made a comeback.
The team has three wrist spinners with Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal also being part of the 15-member squad.
The T20I series will get underway on August 3rd, with the final match of the five-game series being played on August 13th.
