Maharashtra Political Crisis: Will Eknath Shinde Be Replaced? What BJP Said?

Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party president Chandrashekhar Bawankule has alleged opposition parties are creating confusion about the Chief Ministership of Eknath Shinde but he will remain the CM.

Bawankule said all senior BJP leaders, including Devendra Fadnavis, have already told that Eknath Shinde would continue as the CM of the state. He is doing a good job for the state.

Maharashtra Minister Shambhuraj Desai also expressed similar views and said that no leader was unhappy and had full faith in Eknath Shinde's leadership.

"There is no question of the resignation of CM Eknath Shinde. We have the support of more than 200 MLAs. No leader is unhappy and all have faith in Eknath Shinde's leadership," Desai said.

Shiv Sena-UBT, Sanjay Raut had claimed Shinde would be replaced

Earlier, Shiv Sena-UBT had claimed in its mouthpiece 'Saamana' that the Eknath Shinde along with 16 MLAs who were part of the split in Shiv Sena almost a year ago were going to be disqualified as per the Constitution.

"Ajit Pawar has created a record by taking oath as Deputy Chief Minister, but this time the 'deal' has been finalised. Pawar didn't just go for the deputy chief minister's post. Soon, as per the constitution, Eknath Shinde and his rebel MLAs will be disqualified and Ajit Pawar will be coronated," read the Shiv Sena UBT mouthpiece.

The Uddhav Thackeray faction leader Sanjay Raut had said that Shinde could be replaced in the days to come .

"The chief minister of Maharashtra may be changed in the coming days," Raut had said.

Alit Pawar got 32 MLAs to his side

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, both Sharad Pawar and Ajit called their supporters to different venues in Mumbai in a show of strength but what mattered the most was the headcount of MLAs.

Ajit Pawar scored a huge victory over his uncle. He got 32 MLAs on his side while Pawar Senior got 18 MLAs at the last count.
