The rioters also attacked the cyber police station of Nuh. Theys pelted stones and set fire to vehicles parked outside. Seeing the ruckus, the policemen had to run away to save their lives. There was arson at several places in Nagina and Ferozepur-Jhirka towns of Mewat.

Earlier, the miscreants also vandalized the school bus. It is not yet clear whether there were children in the bus or not. The miscreants looted the bus and rammed it into the wall of the police station to demolish it.

Nuh district administration has called police force from other districts to deal with the situation, along with imposing Section 144 in the entire district, Internet was also shut down for two days on August 2. The boundaries of the district have been sealed.

Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij said that the Central Government is airdropping 3 companies of Paramilitary Force in Nuh. Additional forces are being sent to evacuate the people trapped there. Vij also told that the SP of Mewat was on leave, in his place the SP of Palwal was sent there.

The rioters reached Gurugram. Here in Sohna, a vehicle was torched. As soon as the violence started, the traders closed their shops. Gurugram's DCP East Nitish Agarwal said that the situation is under control. Police force has been deployed. In view of the possibility of violence, Section 144 has been enforced in Gurugram after Nuh.

The Brajmandal Yatra started from Nalhad Shiva temple in Nuh towards Ferozepur-Jhirka. As the yatra reached near Tiranga Park, a group of people had already gathered there. As soon as they came face to face, there was a dispute between the two sides and soon the stone pelting started.

2500 people trapped in Nulhar Mahadev temple

Currently, the 2,500 people, who came to take part in the religious procession, have taken shelter in the Nulhar Mahadev temple. Their vehicles have been parked outside. The police have so far been unable to evacuate them.

Towards evening, violence spread to the Gurugram-Sohna highway where several cars were torched and stones were thrown at the police, sources said.

Reports say the clash was triggered by an objectionable video posted on social media by a Bajrang Dal activist.

Sources said Bajrang Dal member Monu Manesar and his associates – suspect in several criminal cases -- had circulated the video a few days ago and openly challenged that they would stay in Mewat during the yatra.
