Antim Panghal got a chance after Vinesh withdrew

Antim Panghal was preparing to challenge previous Games gold medalist Vinesh Phogat in the trials for the Asian Games.

But the ad hoc committee that oversees the functioning of the Indian Wrestling Federation decided to send Vinesh Phogat to the Asian Games. Antim was kept as reserve player.

Vinesh Phogat withdrew from the Asian Games team due to knee injury.

This gave Antim a chance to participate in the Asian Games. Now she has a chance to climb on the podium in the Asian Games like the World Championship.

She is the youngest among the Panghal sisters. She has three elder sisters Sarita, Meenu and Nisha.
