Asian Games-2023: India Crush Pakistan By Record 10-2 Margin, Enter Semifinals


In the Asian Games-2023 hockey competition, India has made it to the semi-finals by defeating Pakistan by a record margin of 10-2.

 

Indian men's hockey team will next face off against Bangladesh on Monday October 2.

 

For India, Mandeep Singh scored the first goal in the eighth minute of the first quarter of the match. In the 11th minute, India got a penalty stroke which was converted into a goal by captain Harmanpreet Singh.

Captain Harmanpreet again scored a goal in the 17th minute of the second quarter.

By the end of 30 minutes of play, India had taken a 4-0 lead.

In the 33rd minute of the third quarter, India got a penalty stroke due to a foul by Pakistan, which the captain converted into a goal and completed his hat-trick in the match.

The very next minute the captain scored another goal.

Four minutes later, Sufiyan Mohammad scored the first goal for Pakistan.

In the 41st minute, India scored a goal and in the last minute of this quarter, Pakistan made the score 7-2.

Two more goals were scored by India in the last quarter and thus the result of the match was 10-2 in favor of India.

For India, captain Harmanpreet scored four goals, Varun scored two goals and Lalit, Mandeep, Sumit and Shamsher scored one goal each.

This is the first time that any team has scored 10 goals in a hockey match played between India and Pakistan.

India has reached the semi-finals by winning all four matches of its pool.

The Indian team, which is in excellent form, has scored a record 46 goals so far in this tournament.
