Asian Games-2023: Roshibina Devi Bags Silver; Men's Team Win Gold In 10 Meter Air Pistol

Hangzhou: Today is the 5th day of the 19th Asian Games going on in Hangzhou, China. On Thursday, the Indian men's team won the first gold of the day in 10 meter air pistol. The trio of Sarabjit Singh, Arjun Singh and Shiva Narwal won gold in this event by scoring 1734. In this event, China won silver with a score of 1733 and Vietnam won bronze with a score of 1730.

Earlier on September 27, on the fourth day, women's team Manu Bhakar, Isha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan had won gold in 25 meter rapid fire and on September 25, Divyansh Singh Panwar, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Rudraksh Patil had won gold in 10 meter air rifle.

Roshibina Devi won silver 

Earlier, Indian Wushu player Roshibina Devi won silver in 60 kg weight category. Indian players have so far won a total of 24 medals in the Asian Games 2023, including 6 gold, 8 silver and 10 bronze.

For India's Naorem Roshibina Devi the silver medal in women's 60kg sanda event of wushu was a victory for the victims of Manipur violence that has been raging in her native state since May this year.

Hailing from the Meitei community in Kwashiphai village in Bishnupur district adjoining Churachandpur, which is dominated by the rival Kuki ethnic community, Roshibina fought a valiant fight against local heavyweight Wu Xiaowei before going down 0-2 in two rounds in the final.

Indian women beat Mongolia in Badminton

Indian women's badminton team thrashed Mongolia 3-0 to sail into the quarterfinals of the team championships of the Asian Games in Hangzhou on Thursday.

In a clash between two lop-sided sides, it was two-time Olympic medallist P V Sindhu who started the proceedings with a 21-3 21-3 win over Myagmartseren Ganbaatar in the first singles.

In the second singles, Ashmita Chaliha dished out a clinical 21-2 21-3 win over Kherlen Darkhanbaatar before Anupama Upadhyaya claimed another dominating 21-0 21-2 win against Khulangoo Baatar in the third singles. India will face a formidable Thailand in the quarterfinals.
