(In Pics) Bhopal Drenched In Devotion; Immersion Of Durga Idols Continues After Dussehra Celebrations

 


Dussehra, the festival symbolising victory of good over evil, was celebrated with great fervour in Bhopal, Indore and other cities of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday.

 


Huge effigies of demon king Ravana were burnt at various places to mark the occasion.

 

Meanwhile, the immersion of Durga idols continues in the city with the culmination of 9-day Durga festival.


About 500 idols were immersed at seven ghats in the capital on Tuesday. Around one thousand more statues from different areas of the city are to be immersed. For this, proper arrangements at the ghats have been made. 

 


Municipal corporation officials have been deployed in different ghats. Along with these, more than 200 corporation employees have also been put on duty at the ghats. 

 


The Durga idols are being immersed in the city's reservoirs with the help of 13 big and small cranes. During this period, 16 divers have also been deployed at the ghats.

 


On Wednesday, more than one thousand security personnel were deployed to avoid any untoward situation around the moving ceremony and ghats. 

 


To ensure that the arrangements remain in perfect order during the moving ceremony, the Municipal Corporation officials along with the police will handle the security arrangements.
