Bhopal: The Election Commission has taken a firm stance in response to Kailash Vijayvargiya's recent statement and has initiated an inquiry, seeking a report from the Indore Collector.
In the context of the Madhya Pradesh elections 2023, Kailash Vijayvargiya's statement has generated significant controversy. The Election Commission of India has officially acknowledged his statement and has summoned a report from Indore Collector and District Election Officer, Ilayaraja T.
Kailash Vijayvargiya had made a declaration during one of his meetings, stating that he would offer a reward of Rs 51,000 to the BJP booth president in cases where the Congress fails to secure a single ticket. In essence, he was urging voters not to support the Congress by providing financial incentives.
'Vijayvargiya attempting to sway voters with financial inducements'
It has come to light that both the Citizen for Justice and Peace organization and Congress leaders have filed complaints with the Election Commission, alleging that Kailash Vijayvargiya's actions constitute a violation of the electoral code of conduct, as he is essentially attempting to sway voters with financial inducements.
After receiving the complaint, the Election Commission has taken it seriously and has instructed Indore Collector and District Election Officer to report the entire matter. It has been demanded in the complaint that strict action should be taken against Kailash Vijayvargiya in this case.

Kailash Vijayvargiya had earlier allegedly announced during a BJP workers' conference that he would provide a reward of Rs 51,000 to the BJP booth president if the Congress did not receive a single vote in that booth.
Kailash Vijayvargiya had also said in a public meeting that there is no need for him to campaign in Indore 1 assembly constituency, he will win by about 50 thousand votes without going to the assembly constituency, hence he will campaign in the entire state. Earlier he had said that 'he had no intention of contesting the elections but he got a call from his boss so he is contesting the elections'.
