Madhya Pradesh Elections-2023: Scindia Supporters Silent In Elections, BJP Working On This Plan With Caution

Ahead of Madhya Pradesh Elections-2023, BJP, which had suffered a setback in the last assembly elections in the state in 2018, is extra-cautious this time. It doesn't want to make any mistakes.

It is reported that Jyotiraditya Scindia, who played a big role in party recapturing power in 2020, is taking several measures for the party’s strength, which include keeping his supporters happy and stopping internal strife. Many big leaders including PM Narendra Modi are also seen in active roles.

BJP can also field Scindia

There have been reports of tension in BJP between the pro-Scindia leaders and the old leaders of the party. However, nothing has been said on this publicly till now.

Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, a senior leader of the party and former MLA, has left BJP and joined Congress amid this tension. He had expressed his displeasure regarding the Scindia camp many times.

Yhis time BJP has given tickets to about 20 supporters of Scindia. It is said that this is because efforts have been made so far to curb the rebellion.

With this, the party actually wants to eliminate the possibility of these big leaders contesting as independent candidates and cutting BJP’s votes. There is also speculation that Jyotiraditya Scindia himself may contest the assembly elections.

BJP did not allow factionalism to emerge

It is believed there are many factions in BJP in Madhya Pradesh. Apart from CM Shivraj, many big names like Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra, BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya and Madhya Pradesh Unit President VD Sharma along with Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia are prominent.

Vijayvargiya had said that only BJP can defeat BJP

However, internal discord has never come out openly till now. But the party is cautious. BJP candidate from Indore-1, Vijayvargiya has even said that only BJP can defeat BJP. In May, Vijayvargiya had said that he has no hesitation in saying that as of today, the condition of Congress is not such that it can defeat BJP. Congress does not have that much power. He said if we do not correct the mistakes made at the organizational level, then it can be said that only BJP can defeat BJP.

Party taking help of PM Modi's face to curb factionalism

This is why the party is taking the help of Prime Minister Modi's face to curb factionalism. From the current political picture of Madhya Pradesh to all the posters put up on the streets, PM is the biggest face. Besides, the PM is also playing a big role in the campaign.
