Madhya Pradesh Elections-2023: Rebellion against Cong candidates at many places; protest at MPCC office in Bhopal

Bhopal: The rebellion intensified after the second list of Congress came. The protest against the first list had not stopped yet and the rebels also took to the streets over the names declared in the second list. Effigies of senior Congress leaders Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh were burnt. On Friday, the protesting workers created a huge ruckus in front of the State Congress office. Congress candidates are facing opposition on 5 seats of Malwa Nimar. The opponents opened their front. Some leaders can contest elections as independents.

229 Congress candidates have been declared for the assembly elections. The opposition regarding some names in both the lists reached its peak.

Angry workers of Powai and Sewda assembly seats reached the MP Congress office in Bhopal. They demonstrated and raised slogans. All of them were against giving tickets to former minister Mukesh Nayak from Powai seat and Ghanshyam Singh from Sewda seat. These workers said that if the party does not change candidates on these two seats, Congress will have to face defeat. They accused Digvijaya Singh of getting the ticket of Damodar cancelled.

Rebellion even at the seats where tickets changed

Protests are also taking place on the seats where Congress changed candidates in the second list. The leaders whose tickets the party changed are now angry. Former candidate from Datia, Awadhesh Nayak opened a front against the party. He says that he is now consulting his supporters and will take a big decision after that. There is also anger over cancellation of Shekhar Chaudhary's name from Gotegaon. There are also reports of resentment among the contenders for Bhopal's Berasia, Huzur, South West and Narmadapuram's Suhagpur seats.

Protest by tearing clothes, getting tonsured

Angry workers expressed their protest at Kamal Nath's bungalow by tearing their clothes and getting tonsured. A large number of supporters of Rambhai Mehar, who is claiming ticket from Bhopal's Berasia assembly, reached Kamal Nath's bungalow. Congress has made Jayshree Harikaran its candidate from this seat.
