Rajasthan Assembly Elections-2023: What CM Ashok Gehlot Said That Suggests Power Struggle With Sachin Pilot Is Not Over Yet

Jaipur:  Despite putting aside differences, at least publicly, to show a united front in the upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections-2023, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot has recently once again taken a dig at his  rival Sachin Pilot and termed him the "Congress high command".

Gehlot seemed to be suggesting that Sachin Pilot has a significant influence within the Congress party, to the extent that he doesn't need to be told what to do by the party's central leadership. This could be seen as a subtle way of highlighting the power struggle or differences within the party

Gehlot said Sachin Pilot is the leader of Congress party. Now he himself has become the high command. So there is no need for the high command to tell him what to do.

Gehlot said Pilot will also have a role in ticket distribution. The CM said when the high command itself distributes the tickets, then Pilot will also have a role in the exercise.

The comment came in response to a query on Pilot's role in ticket distribution, at a programme of a news portal in Jaipur recently.

When asked about the possibility of the BJP nominating former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje to contest against him from the Sardarpura constituency in Jodhpur, Gehlot said it would be his good fortune if she contested. He suggested that such a contest would garner significant attention nationally In such a scenario.
