Asian Games-2023: India Scripts History, Hits Century Of Medals, PM Modi Said This


Saturday, October 7 is the 14th day of the ongoing Asian Games-2023 in Hangzhou, China.  So far, India has won record 100 medals with 25 gold. Indian players have given historic performance in Hangzhou Asiad. 


Indian athletes are continuously winning medals in competitions one after the other. In the Asian Games on Saturday, October 7, Indian players will give historic performances in archery, wrestling, cricket and kabaddi.


100th medal 


India claimed an unprecedented 100th medal at the Asian Games with a thrilling 26-25 victory over Chinese Taipei in the women's kabaddi final in Hangzhou on Saturday.


This was the women's kabaddi team's third title triumph at the Asian Games, going one better than its runner-up finish in the last edition of the Games in Indonesia and fulfilling the country's expectations of touching the historic 100-mark in the medals for the first time.


Nation is thrilled: PM


The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the nation is thrilled as our athletes have surpassed the milestone of 100 medals in the Asian Games. 


Narendra Modi posted on X : A momentous achievement for India at the Asian Games!  The people of India are thrilled that we have reached a remarkable milestone of 100 medals. 


PM wrote further: I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our phenomenal athletes whose efforts have led to this historic milestone for India. Every awe-inspiring performance has made history and filled our hearts with pride. 


I look forward to hosting our Asian Games contingent on the 10th and interacting with our athletes, PM Modi said further.
