Ayodhya Ram Temple Inauguration: Railways to operate 100 special trains to accommodate devotees; these facilities will be available at railway station

Ayodhya Ram Temple: Indian Railways has made a major decision to accommodate devotees visiting the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. In anticipation of the large crowd expected during the temple's inauguration, Railways is prepared to operate 100 special trains in January.

The initiative aims to cater to the needs of the multitude of devotees flocking to Ayodhya. The Railway Ministry has also shared updates on the redevelopment of the Ayodhya railway station. Recognizing the immense crowd expected during this period, Railways is actively planning to run special trains to Ayodhya on a large scale. All railway zones across the country have been put on alert to respond to the anticipated demand.

Rly station will offer a preview of majestic Ram temple

In the upcoming months, visitors to Ayodhya will be greeted by a transformed railway station, offering a preview of the majestic Ram temple before reaching the sacred site.

The Ayodhya railway station is undergoing a comprehensive redesign to mirror the architectural splendor of the Ram temple. Scheduled for completion by June 2021, the first phase of the station's redevelopment aims to provide state-of-the-art facilities for travelers.

This renovation holds particular significance as it aligns with the anticipated completion of the Ram temple construction by 2023-24. Sanjay Tripathi, the Divisional Railway Manager, emphasized the ongoing efforts to not only modernize but also aesthetically enhance the station. The objective is to offer devotees and tourists contemporary amenities as they arrive in Ayodhya.

With the completion of the temple, Ayodhya is poised to become a global attraction, drawing devotees and tourists from around the world.

World-class amenities will be available

According to officials from the Indian Railway Ministry, Ayodhya railway station will undergo redevelopment with an aim to transform it into a facility offering world-class amenities for passengers.

The Indian Railways is working diligently to complete the redevelopment of Ayodhya railway station by January 15, just a week before the installation of the idol of Ram Lalla at the Ram temple. The station's design draws inspiration from the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi temple and aims to accommodate a daily footfall of approximately 50,000 individuals.

Railway officials have indicated that Prime Minister Modi is expected to inaugurate the revamped station on January 22, coinciding with the "pran pratistha" ceremony for Lord Ram at the temple.

Shopping malls, cafeterias, recreational facilities will be available

The redevelopment project for the holy city's station comes with a price tag of Rs 240 crore. The upgraded station will feature modern passenger amenities such as shopping malls, cafeterias, recreational facilities, and ample parking space.

The new station, with a total area of 3,645 sqm, will be a two-storeyed building in addition to the ground floor. Platform improvements, two 6-meter wide foot over-bridges, and a spacious circulating area are part of the station's layout. A front porch over the drop-off zone will shield passengers from adverse weather conditions, and the building will be certified as a green station.

Station will boast 12 lifts, 14 escalators, and food plazas

The station's design also includes separate areas for arrival and departure, with a large air concourse over platforms 4/5 housing all passenger amenities, retail spaces, cafeterias, and recreational facilities. The station will boast 12 lifts, 14 escalators, and food plazas, enhancing the overall passenger experience.

The current capacity of Ayodhya railway station, capable of accommodating 5 thousand passengers, is undergoing expansion to cater to one lakh passengers. This expansion is deemed essential, given the anticipation of a daily influx of lakhs of people visiting Ayodhya after the Ram Temple's inauguration.
