Delhi Pollution: What is Delhi government's action plan to deal with rising air pollution?

The level of pollution in Delhi has remained 'severe' for the past several days, to deal with it the Delhi government is going to implement various measures in the coming days.

The Odd-Even Scheme of the Delhi Government will be implemented again in Delhi after the Supreme Court reviews its effectiveness. Apart from this, to deal with air pollution, artificial rain will be done through cloud seeding around November 20.

According to Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai, instructions have been issued to the Transport Department to ban app-based taxis i.e. Ola-Uber "as per the orders of the Supreme Court".

Senior officials said that only from the detailed order it will be clear whether the ban on app-based taxi services will come into effect from this week or only during the implementation of the odd-even car scheme.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the Delhi government to consider that only taxis registered in the city should ply in the city as a large number of taxis registered in other states come to the city carrying only one passenger.

Gopal Rai also said that the Delhi government will provide artificial rain through cloud seeding around November 20-21 to tackle air pollution in the city.

In view of the increasing level of pollution, the Delhi government has also rescheduled the winter holidays from November 9 to November 18 instead of December.
