Varanasi: Grand five-day Diwali festival at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham; these preparations are being made



Preparations for Diwali are in full swing, not only in households but also in temples, with exciting news emerging from Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham in Varanasi. A grand five-day festival is set to take place here, commencing on Dhanteras, which falls on the 10th of November, and culminating with Annakoot on the 14th of November. 


During these five days, devotees will have the opportunity to have a darshan of Maa Annapurna. Additionally, prasad, comprising both food and monetary offerings, will be distributed to the worshippers. This celebration is a testament to the belief that, under the benevolent grace of Mother Annapurna and Lord Mahadev, no one in Kashi goes hungry, which is why this grand festival from Dhanteras to Annakoot is being organized at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham.


Temple is abuzz with preparations


According to the temple administration, devotees will be able to have a darshan of the idol of Mother Annapurna for five consecutive days, and prasad, consisting of both Anna (food) and monetary offerings, will be generously shared with all the visitors. The temple is abuzz with preparations, as they adorn the tableau and enhance the temple's grandeur. This time, for the Annakoot festival, an astonishing 21 quintals of prasad will be offered, available for all visitors.


Temple doors will open to the public following a grand aarti puja


Prof. Nagendra Pandey, the President of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, informed the media that on the 10th, the temple doors will open to the public following a grand aarti puja in honor of Mata Annapurna, residing in Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple. 


Following this ceremony, all devotees will have the privilege of having darshan of Mata Annapurna. Alongside this, devotees will also have the opportunity to admire various Gods and Goddesses' tableau displays adjacent to the temple. 


21 quintals of prasad will be offered on Annakoot


Sunil Kumar Verma, the Chief Executive Officer of the temple, mentioned that officers and employees have been assigned duty shifts. Special facilities are being arranged for visitors coming to the Annapurna Temple, including orderly queues. For the Annakoot festival, an impressive 21 quintals of prasad will be offered, obtainable by visitors through the temple's help desk counter with a receipt.


Mahant Shankar Puri of Annapurna Math Temple disclosed that devotees will be able to witness the golden form of Annapurna for five days. On Dhanteras, the temple doors will open for the general devotees at 1 o'clock, and darshan (viewing) will be accessible until the 14th of November. Mahant Shankar Puri added that for five days, devotees will be able to witness not only the golden Annapurna but also Maa Bhoomi Devi, Lakshmi, and Rajat Mahadev
