UP: Why Yogi Adityanath Cabinet meeting in Ayodhya just before Diwali is very significant for BJP?

In five poll-bound states the BJP is consistently emphasizing its Hindutva agenda by making the Ayodhya Ram Temple a key issue. Meanwhile, the Cabinet meeting scheduled for November 9 in Uttar Pradesh has been strategically set in Ayodhya. This move is seen as an attempt by the BJP to convey its religious agenda to the people of the state in anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections-2024.

This meeting holds significant importance, as it is being said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's entire cabinet will pay their respects at the Ram Lalla shrine, after which crucial decisions will be made.

Similar meeting was held in Prayagraj during 2019 Kumbh festival

This Cabinet meeting in Ayodhya, just before Diwali, is considered highly significant for the BJP, following a similar meeting in Prayagraj during the Kumbh festival in 2019. During this meeting, there are also hints that approval may be given for the establishment of the Ayodhya Teerth Vikas Parishad, Devipatan Dham Teerth Vikas Parishad, and Shukratal Dham Teerth Vikas Parishad in Muzaffarnagar.

In all three development councils, the Chief Minister will serve as the chairman. Once these bills are passed in the cabinet, they will be presented in the winter session of the legislature at the end of November. Additionally, there is speculation that a decision might be made in this meeting to establish the Uttar Pradesh Inland Waterways Authority.

The CM's Cabinet meeting is slated to take place at the International Ram Katha Dham in Ayodhya. Ever since the Bharatiya Janata Party assumed power in Uttar Pradesh in 2017, Ayodhya has been at the forefront of the Yogi government's agenda.

Yogi Adityanath has been making periodic visits to oversee construction work and offer his prayers to Ram Lalla, aligning this with the city's overall development plan. Currently, Ayodhya enjoys a high priority in both the Central and Uttar Pradesh governments' schemes, with projects worth over Rs 30,000 crore underway in the region.

This year's Diwali festival in Ayodhya will be grandest

It's worth noting that this year's Diwali festival in Ayodhya is expected to be grander than ever before. Deepotsav will be celebrated on November 11, and preparations are in full swing to make this Diwali, preceding the inauguration of the Ram Temple by PM Narendra Modi on January 22, 2024, exceptionally grand.

The Yogi Adityanath government has been organising Deepotsav celebrations in Ayodhya on the eve of Diwali every year since it came to power in March 2017.

Stressing on Ayodhya’s importance for his government, the Chief Minister said: “At present, projects of around Rs 32,000 crore are underway in Ayodhya. In no city across the country are projects in such a large number underway.”

He added that the entire world would be attracted to Ayodhya when Prime Minister Narendra Modi enthrones Ram Lalla at the sanctum-sanctorum of Ram Temple after 500 years.

The Chief Minister listed the ongoing development projects in Ayodhya. He mentioned upcoming international airport, railway station and other projects.

The BJP is actively promoting this festival and continuing to emphasize its Hindutva agenda. Notably, several opposition leaders, including Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, and his wife Dimple Yadav, recently visited Kedarnath and Badrinath to counter the BJP's Hindutva agenda.

Yogi cabinet could be expanded on Dhanteras

Furthermore, discussions regarding the expansion of the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet have gained momentum since the CM's meeting with the Governor on Tuesday. It is anticipated that the Yogi Cabinet might be expanded on Dhanteras, which falls on November 10. Speculations are rife that Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party President Om Prakash Rajbhar, former minister Dara Singh Chauhan, and other leaders may find a place in the Cabinet.
