Uttarakhand Tunnel Rescue: "Happiness cannot be expressed in words," says kin of rescued laborer; this is what PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi said


All 41 laborers trapped in the Uttarkashi tunnel in Uttarakhand have been safely rescued.


After a 17-day ordeal, the relatives of the laborers are also breathing a sigh of relief.


A family from Ara, Bihar, shared their pain and joy with the media, stating, "This is a day of joy. The entire country was praying, and our prayers were answered. I cannot express it in words."


Various news channels have been broadcasting images of the families of the laborers celebrating and expressing happiness.


Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami extended a warm welcome to the workers, adorning them with garlands as they emerged from the Silkyara tunnel after 17 days of confinement. The successful rescue of 41 workers trapped in the tunnel brought immense joy to their families, hailing from Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand.


Following their safe evacuation from the under-construction tunnel in Uttarkashi, all 41 workers were reunited with their loved ones, marking the end of their ordeal in the tunnel's darkness. Local residents in Uttarkashi joined the celebration, distributing sweets to commemorate the workers' secure return.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the spirit of all those involved in the Uttarkashi tunnel rescue operation.


The Prime Minister stated that the successful rescue operation is an emotional moment for everyone, acknowledging the courage and patience of those trapped in the tunnel. He wished them good health and commended everyone involved for setting an amazing example of humanity and teamwork.


Nitin Gadkari expresses gratitude


Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari expressed relief and happiness as the 41 trapped laborers in the Silkyara Tunnel Collapse were successfully rescued. He described it as a well-coordinated effort by multiple agencies, marking one of the most significant rescue operations in recent years. Despite numerous challenges, various departments and agencies complemented each other, and the tireless and sincere efforts of everyone, coupled with prayers, made the operation possible.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed joy at the safe return of the trapped laborers, extending congratulations to them and their families. He emphasized the importance of the safety of laborers contributing to the nation and saluted all the brave individuals who made the challenging rescue successful.


Congress leader Jairam Ramesh wrote on social media, "After 17 days of hard work and struggle, 41 laborers trapped in Uttarakhand's Silkyara tunnel have been rescued. The entire nation salutes the remarkable patience and courage of the laborers. The nation also appreciates and sincerely thanks the entire rescue team for their dedication, skill, and perseverance."


Economic aid for rescued laborers


Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that each rescued laborer will receive financial assistance of one lakh rupees. He assured that the laborers will undergo medical supervision according to the advice of doctors, and their health will be closely monitored. Dhami also mentioned the reconstruction of the damaged temple and a review of the under-construction tunnel.
