UP: Suspended Wrestling Federation of India President Sanjay Singh conducts Mega Road Show in Varanasi

Varanasi: The Central Government suspended the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). After this, the newly elected President Sanjay Singh was suspended. For the first time after the suspension, Sanjay Singh reached his home town Varanasi. During this, on Tuesday, he conducted a road show and show of strength in dozens of luxury vehicles from the airport to the city. During the road show, Sanjay Singh stood at the front on the Mercedes with the sunroof open.

Sanjay Singh welcomed by supporters 

The spectacle unfolded as the convoy made its way from the airport to the city, with supporters halting at various points to welcome Sanjay Singh. Accompanied by drum beats and cheers from Brij Bhushan Singh's loyal supporters, the road show extended for about 20 kilometers. Many vehicles in the procession had supporters with open sunroofs, echoing chants of "Har Har Mahadev."

I will talk to govt: Sanjay Singh

During the road show, Sanjay Singh talked to the media about the suspension of the new wrestling team by the Sports Ministry. He said that he will talk to the government, otherwise if things do not work out then he will take legal advice. Singh further said that the family of Haryana has ruined the game in one year.

Welcome banners and hoardings put up

On receiving the news of Sanjay Singh's visit to Varanasi, his supporters had put up posters, banners and hoardings along the way to welcome him. In a poster put up in Varanasi, MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh was described as the father of wrestling. Apart from these, Hinduist pictures of PM Modi and Amit Shah were put up. However, Yogi's picture was not visible from this poster.

It is noteworthy that the results of the Wrestling Federation of India elections were revealed on December 21. In this, Sanjay Singh had won by 40 votes. As soon as Brij Bhushan Singh became the president of the group, many wrestlers announced their retirement from wrestling. Whereas, Bajrang Punia announced to return his medals. Due to which the Sports Ministry canceled the WFI elections.
