The number of children who died after a boat capsized in Harni Lake of Vadodara in Gujarat has risen. A picnic boat overturned in a lake on the outskirts of Vadodara city in Gujarat on Thursday, police officials said.
Dodra Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot said that 14 children and two teachers have died in this accident. The rescued children have been admitted to the nearby Sayaji Hospital.
According to local officials, there were a total of 27 people on the boat, including 23 children and four teachers.
After the incident, teams of local fire brigade, NDRF and swimmers have reached the spot and are engaged in rescue work.
