JMM Takes Aggressive Stance, Questions ED's Presence at CM Soren's Delhi Residence

Following Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren's return to Ranchi, his party, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), has adopted a more assertive position.

During a press conference in Ranchi, JMM's Central General Secretary and Spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya raised questions about the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) premature arrival at CM Soren's Delhi residence. Bhattacharya sought clarification on whose directives ED conducted a search in the Chief Minister's absence and the ownership of the allegedly recovered money.

Expressing disbelief, Bhattacharya questioned the legality of searching someone's house in their absence and speculated whether the money was planted by the ED or Babulal Marandi.

Supriyo said, "Listen clearly, Hemant Soren is neither Himanta Biswa Sarma, nor Ajit Pawar nor Nitish Kumar. He is Hemant Soren, son of brave Shibu Soren.”

He said further, “The way Raj Bhavan is talking. There is huge anger among the public about the mischief that this group of political scoundrels is doing. Will the Chief Minister have to go to the BJP office and give his biometrics?

JMM spokesperson said that now the appropriate time is 2024, when we should identify and isolate such people.

He made sharp remarks on BJP state president and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi and warned of filing a defamation case against him.

Bhattacharya said, “The language that Babulal Marandi is using has crossed extremes. He released a poster of the Chief Minister and sent his workers to the police station and file a missing complaint of the Chief Minister."

"We will file a defamation case against him under the sections of CrPC. He talks about a reward of Rs 11,000. We say that we will give a reward of Rs 11 lakh to the psychiatrist who treats Marandi."
