Mithun Chakraborty Hospitalized Amidst Film Shoot Due to Health Concerns; Routine Check-up, Says Family


Famous film actor Mithun Chakraborty (73) was admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata on Saturday after complaining of chest pain during the shooting of a film.


Hospital sources said that MRI examination of Mithun had been done. People associated with the film told that Mithun was shooting for Soham Chakraborty's company's film Shastri here  when his health deteriorated. He was immediately taken to a private hospital in Kolkata itself.


At present he has been admitted under Neuro Medicine specialist Dr. Sajay Bhowmik.


A team of experts has been formed for his treatment. Hospital sources said that apart from chest pain, Mithun also has many other problems. At present, all kinds of tests are being done on his health. Only after that something can be said.


Mithun's film Kabuliwala, released during Durga Puja last year, won a lot of praise from the audience.


The shooting of Shastri film started in January. Through this film, the pair of Mithun and actress Debashree Roy will return on the big screen after almost 16 years.


This film is to be released during Durga Puja this year. Mithun was also recently honored with the Padma Bhushan Award.


Routine check-up, says daughter-in-law Madalsa Sharma


Hours after it was reported that veteran actor-politician Mithun Chakraborty has been hospitalised after complaining of chest pain in Kolkata, his daughter-in-law Madalsa Sharma has said that it is untrue. The Anupamaa actress said that the actor went to the hospital only for routine check-up and he is fine.


Madalsa slammed the reports of his hospitalisation and said, "It was just a routine check up, who is spreading these rumours?"


Mithun's elder son Mimoh Chakraborty also told that the veteran actor is "100 per cent fine and it was a routine checkup."
