Lok Sabha Election 2024: Home Minister Amit Shah made this big announcement about CAA

The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will be enforced nationwide by the Central government ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Union Home Minister Amit made this big announcement, stating that a formal notification regarding the Act will be issued before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The announcement was made by the Union Home Minister during a program.

CAA will not strip anyone of their citizenship

Amit Shah emphasized, "It's important to clarify that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will not strip anyone of their citizenship. The primary goal of the CAA is to grant citizenship to those who have faced religious persecution in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh."

During a recent event, Amit Shah highlighted the historical context, noting that minorities faced persecution in neighboring countries post-India's partition. At that time, these individuals sought Indian citizenship, and the Congress party had welcomed them, assuring them citizenship upon arrival.

Muslims are being misled

The Union Home Minister alleged that the opposition is providing false information to Muslims regarding the CAA law. The CAA aims to confer citizenship exclusively to religious minorities from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. According to this legislation, citizenship will be extended to non-Muslim immigrants who arrived in India from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan before December 31, 2014.
