Ujjain: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Mahashivratri festival celebrations began here in the city of Mahakal with the captivating presentation of Lord Shiva Durga Natika by Kathak dancer, famous actress and MP Padmashri Hema Malini.
CM Dr. Yadav was addressing the presentation programme of Lord Shiva Durga drama organized under Vikramotsav at Polytechnic College, Ujjain late on Thursday night. He said that the grandeur of Mahashivratri has been further enhanced by the grand presentation of well known dancer Hema Malini and other artistes.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav honoured all the artists including actress and dancer Hema Malini with bouquets and the statue of Samrat Vikramaditya.

Addressing the gathering actress dancer Hema Malini said that on the eve of Mahashivratri, it is a great pleasure to present the Shiv Durga Natika in the city of Lord Mahakal. She thanked CM Dr. Yadav profusely for this opportunity and wished everyone a happy Mahashivratri.
Entire programme resonated with thunderous applause
Hema Malini captivated everyone with her amazing dance moves in the Vikramotsav organized at Polytechnic College. The entire programme resonated with thunderous applause for her brilliant performance as Maa Durga and Sati in the dance drama along with other artistes.
The Shiv Durga dance drama was so realistically presented that it seemed as if Maa Durga had herself incarnated in her form in the city of Lord Mahakal.
Hema Malini, who came to participate in Vikramotsav, along with her group presented Shiv Sati Katha, Daksh Vadh, Shiv Tandav, Bam Lahari, Shiv Parvati Vivah, Namastasye.
Audience chanted Har-Har Mahadev
The audience added to the energy of the artists by chanting Har-Har Mahadev. Hema Malini started the dance drama with Shiv Sati Katha in which she gave an excellent performance while playing the character of Sati. The dance drama Durga based on Durga Saptashati was staged.
Marriage of Shiva-Parvati and killing of Mahishasura also depicted
Hema Malini’s dance drama and Mahishasura Mardini form left the audience in the auditorium enchanted. She presented dance in many forms including Mata Parvati, Naudurga form, Chandi, Sati. During this, the marriage of Shiva-Parvati and the killing of Mahishasura were also shown complete with songs, music and classical dance which were liked very much by the audience.
