New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections-2024, introducing Bansuri Swaraj as a contender for the New Delhi seat. Bansuri Swaraj, the daughter of the late Sushma Swaraj, former foreign affairs minister, is making her political debut.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, Bansuri Swaraj acknowledged the support of Delhi BJP workers and affirmed her commitment to upholding her mother's legacy. She believes she has the blessings of her late mother, Sushma Swaraj, who she feels is watching over her from heaven.
Was appointed co-convenor of BJP Delhi's legal cell last year
Bansuri Swaraj, a seasoned lawyer, has an impressive legal background. Last year, she was appointed as the co-convenor of BJP Delhi's legal cell. With a remarkable fifteen-year career, she has handled high-profile cases in areas such as contracts, real estate, tax, international commercial arbitrations, and criminal trials.
Her academic journey includes a law degree from BPP Law School in London, qualification as a Barrister at Law, and a Masters of Studies from the University of Oxford.
In a noteworthy move last year, Bansuri Swaraj criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government during a press conference, particularly targeting their perceived inefficiency since 2015. She applauded the passing of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023, and expressed confidence that the administration in Delhi would now operate in compliance with the law.
