Eid moon not sighted, now when will Eid be celebrated?

Eid will be celebrated in India on 11 April. The festival of Eid ul-Fitr is celebrated at the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.


Markazi Chand Committee of Lucknow has said that the moon has not been seen today and now Eid will be celebrated on 11th April.


Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali, Chairperson of the Islamic Center of India, said, "On April 9, 2024, the sky was clear but the moon was not visible. There is no information about the moon being sighted in any other part of the country. Therefore, on this basis, this it is announced that tomorrow, April 10, will be the 30th Roza and Eid will be celebrated on the 11th."


Imam of Jama Masjid of Delhi and Imam of Fatehpuri Masjid have also said to celebrate Eid on 11th April.


Eid is being celebrated in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. Islamic festivals and their customs follow the Hijri calendar based on the moon.


In this calendar also there are 12 months in a year and Ramadan is the ninth month.


For Muslims, following the calendar based on the moon is very important. During the month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset.
