MP Weather: Heavy hailstorm in Betul, thunderstorm and rain in Khargone, capital Bhopal also receives shower, this is Met Dept's prediction


Madhya Pradesh Weather Update: Along with strong storm, there was hailstorm and heavy rain in Betul, Khargone of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. Not only this, there was rain along with thunderstorm in the capital Bhopal, Vidisha and Shajapur. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of storm and rain in the state till April 15.


According to the Meteorological Department, due to cyclonic circulation and trough line, heavy rains and hailstorms are occurring, due to which farmers are facing huge losses. Due to heavy rain and heavy hailstorm in Betul on Tuesday, there was a blanket of hail on the roads. A view like Kashmir and Shimla was visible. Due to heavy hailstorm, traders suffered losses and farmers whose crops were kept in their fields also suffered losses.


Heavy rain accompanied by heavy hailstorm occurred in Chauhta, Popti and Kunkhedi villages of Bhimpur development block of Betul district. People told that Phagun fair was organized in Popti on Tuesday, there was a lot of crowd in the fair. Many traders from the district had also set up shops in the fair. As soon as there was hailstorm, there was a stampede in the fair. At many places it rained for 20 minutes and at other places it rained for 40 minutes.

The weather changed suddenly in Khargone. Heavy rain with strong wind and storm lashed the city. Heavy rainfall occurred in four villages. There was hailstorm along with rain in a village. Water flowed in the streets of the villages. At some places, sheets of houses were blown away.


Gusty winds accompany rain in Bhopal


It has been raining in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, for 3 consecutive days. On Tuesday afternoon, gusty winds blew with dark clouds and thundershowers were recorded in many parts of city. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of rain and hailstorm in many districts of MP till April 15.


The weather took a turn in the capital Bhopal on Sunday evening. It rained at many places in Bhopal in the evening. The sky was cloudy since Monday morning. It rained heavily in the afternoon. According to the Meteorological Department, 1.8 mm rainfall was recorded in Bhopal. Whereas 4.6 mm rainfall was recorded in Bairagarh.


The changing weather led to fluctuations in daytime temperatures across many districts. On Monday, light rain, thunder and lightning, and light showers were observed in various districts including Jabalpur, Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Sagar, and Shahdol.


Change in weather due to cyclonic circulation


Dr Vedprakash Singh, Senior Scientist at IMD Bhopal, attributed the changing weather patterns in the state to cyclonic circulation and the Western Disturbance.


Additionally, light rainfall and thunderstorms for these days are forecast for many districts including Khandwa, Narmadapuram, Indore, Dewas, Sehore, Narsinghpur, Raisen, Bhopal, Shajapur, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Sagar, Jabalpuretc. Hailstorms may also occur in some areas.
