Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday reached his home in Ghazipur to meet the family members of late Bahubali Mukhtar Ansari after his demise.
Mukhtar Ansari's younger son Umar Ansari told that during this time, except his mother (Afsan Ansari) and brother (Abbas Ansari), the rest of the family members were present.
Whereas Akhilesh Yadav said after this meeting that the image of Mukhtar Ansari was presented in a wrong way.
Akhilesh Yadav said, "I have met all the family members. I am meeting the family members in this hour of grief. The incident that has happened is shocking for everyone. It is more shocking when Mukhtar Ansari himself said that he was being poisoned."
"We hope that the government will bring out the truth and the family will get justice. Manu and Umar Ansari are standing with me, did their great grandfather not have any role in the freedom struggle? The government wants to hide these things."
He said, "Sometimes people sitting at a distance do not realize how the family was. The family was not like the image that was shown. This family is still engaged in the welfare of the poor. This is the reason why thousands of people gathered here and gave a message to the family that they are standing with them at this time."
'How can we assume it was a natural death?'
"How can we assume it was a natural death? Even in Russia, the opposition leader was poisoned to death inside the prison," Akhilesh said.
Akhilesh Yadav said that Uttar Pradesh is continuously moving ahead in custody deaths. The apprehensions expressed by Mukhtar Ansari proved to be true. My demand is that there should be an investigation and the truth should come out.
Akhilesh Yadav hit back at Keshav Prasad Maurya's statement in Azamgarh. Said who is a bigger goon than Keshav Prasad.
Akhilesh said that poison was given in the jail. This is not the first incident, even before this the government could not provide security to those who said that there was a threat to their lives in jail. The government which cannot provide security to the people is not the government of the people. There is pressure on media also.
Akhilesh said that it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that people get justice. People's sentiments towards the government should be good, but this is not happening. This government worked to undermine truth and trust.
The SDP chief said if the investigation is conducted under the supervision of a sitting judge of the Supreme Court, then justice will be served. I do not trust the government will bring out the truth in this matter. Although people know what the truth is.
What did Mukhtar Ansari's son say?
Umar Ansari said, "Honourable National President (of Samajwadi Party) Akhilesh Yadav had come. He encouraged us on this occasion of grief, such a huge grief that has fallen on us, and the irreparable loss that has fallen upon us. He tried to emotionally balance us."
According to him, "My mother was not there, my elder brother Abbas Ansari Saheb was not there, the rest of the family was there. These two people were missing, but Akhilesh Saheb's visit brought some relief."
Ansari said, "The loss that was caused has been done and now it cannot be compensated, but the Honorable National President gave us courage and encouragement."
According to Umar Ansari, when Honorable Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) was there, he always held our father's hand and looked after him as his guardian. Now Honorable National President Akhilesh Yadav ji is our guardian.
