AAP MP Swati Maliwal Allegedly Assaulted at Arvind Kejriwal's Residence, What BJP Said?

Former Delhi Commisson for Women (DCW) chief and AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal was allegedly slapped by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Personal Assistant (PA) Bibhav on Monday, sources said, adding that the incident occurred at CM's residence in the national capital.

Swati Maliwal also visited the Civil Lines police station but did not complain. The BJP responded to reports of an alleged assault on AAP MP Swati Maliwal at Kejriwal's residence, criticizing the situation as indicative of chaos within the CM's office. Bansuri Swaraj, BJP's New Delhi candidate, accused Kejriwal of instigating the incident.

"We received distressing news today alleging that under the instigation of Arvind Kejriwal, his OSD mistreated and assaulted AAP MP Swati Maliwal. She promptly reported the incident to the Delhi Police. This transpired in the presence of CM Kejriwal at his residence. The BJP strongly condemns such behavior," stated Bansuri Swaraj.

Anurag Thakur, a BJP leader, raised concerns about women's safety under AAP's governance, while Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva labeled the incident shameful, citing previous controversies at Kejriwal's residence, including an alleged assault on the former chief secretary.

Kejriwal's residence has been embroiled in similar controversies before: Sachdeva

"This incident at the CM's residence is deplorable. Kejriwal's residence has been embroiled in similar controversies before. The former chief secretary of Delhi was also reportedly assaulted there. The police will conduct an investigation to uncover the truth. Swati Maliwal is known for advocating Delhi's issues, and I'm certain she won't stay silent. This incident sheds light on the unpleasant reality within the CM's residence," remarked Sachdeva.

BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh demanded legal action against Vibhav Kumar, alleging that he assaulted Swati Maliwal. "First, senior officers were attacked, and now a female MP from their own party was assaulted in his office. It appears that the CMO has turned into a battleground. Legal action must be taken against the accused. This incident raises serious concerns," Chugh emphasized.

Delhi's DCP (North), Manoj Meena, confirmed receiving a call from a woman alleging assault at Kejriwal's residence. They received another call, the second from Swati Maliwal herself, accusing Bibhav Kumar of misconduct.

According to sources, Maliwal attempted to meet Kejriwal, but his assistant, Bibhav Kumar, denied her entry.

Swati Maliwal visited the police station but left, indicating she would file a complaint later.

There has been no reaction from Swati Maliwal and the AAP. The CM's residence has also not reacted to the alleged incident.

Swati Maliwal, the former youngest chief of Delhi Commisson for Women, currently a member of the Rajya Sabha, has been vocal about issues concerning Delhi.
