Lok Sabha Election 2024: 'BJP will construct Krishna Janmbhoomi temple in Mathura and Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi if...': Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Lok Sabha Election 2024: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that the BJP will construct the Krishna Janmbhoomi temple in Mathura and the Kashi Vishwanath temple in place of the Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi if they secure 400 seats in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Sarma made these statements while addressing a poll-bound gathering in Delhi's Laxmi Nagar.

"When I was questioned by Congress about the necessity of having 400 seats, I reminded them that with 300 seats, we constructed the Ram Mandir. Now, with a further 400 seats, we aim to build the Krishna Janmabhoomi and replace the Gyanvapi Mosque with the Baba Vishwanath Mandir," he declared.

The Assam CM criticized the Congress party, highlighting the absence of parliamentary discussions on the issue of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) during their tenure. Sarma affirmed that under PM Modi's leadership, PoK would be integrated into India.

Sarma stressed necessity of implementing UCC

During another recent rally in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, Chief Minister Sarma stressed the necessity of implementing a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) nationwide. The BJP leader advocated for equality. He asked why people of different religions are afforded varying marital standards. Sarma argued that a UCC is imperative for uniformity.

"If a Hindu is allowed to have one wife, why people of other religions can have more than one wife," Sarma asked.

"Congress has been trying to give reservation to Muslims...," the Assam CM said, accusing the grand old party of promoting religion-based reservations.

He asserted that it is the Congress, not the BJP, that has tampered with the Constitution, stating that the term "secularism" was absent from the original draft.
