Ajit Pawar said- NCP should have been given the post of a cabinet minister, what Devendra Fadnavis said?

Ajit Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party, expressed his belief that the NCP should have been granted a cabinet ministerial position in Narendra Modi's cabinet.

Pawar conveyed to the media, "Praful Patel previously held a cabinet minister position. We were not inclined towards accepting the role of Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the central government. We have communicated to the BJP our willingness to be patient, but we are seeking a cabinet ministerial post."

He further stated, "With one MP in the Lok Sabha and one in the Rajya Sabha, and with possibility to have three MPs in the Rajya Sabha in the next two to three months, we will have a total of four MPs in Parliament. With this representation, we believe we should be entitled to a cabinet minister position."

Earlier, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis mentioned that the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit faction) was extended an offer for a ministerial position, which was declined by the NCP.

Ajit Pawar faction joined NDA govt in Maharashtra last year

Last year, Ajit Pawar's faction joined the NDA government in Maharashtra, along with the majority of NCP MLAs. Following a legal dispute, the Ajit Pawar faction obtained the NCP symbol and name, leading Sharad Pawar to establish a new party.

However, in the Lok Sabha elections, Ajit Pawar's faction secured just one Lok Sabha seat. Out of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, the NDA alliance managed to win only 17 seats.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis has claimed that the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit faction) was offered a ministerial post, but the NCP turned down the offer.

Ajit Pawar faction wanted Praful Patel to be made a minister: Fadnavis

Devendra Fadnavis told reporters "Nationalist Congress Party was offered the post of Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Cabinet. But they wanted Praful Patel to be made a Cabinet minister."

"Praful Patel has been a Union Minister earlier, so he refused to take the post of Minister of State (Independent Charge)."

The standard was one post for one party: Fadnavis

Devendra Fadnavis said, "Whenever an alliance is formed, some standards are set because many parties have to be kept together. Here the standard was one post for one party. In future, when the cabinet is expanded, their demand for a Cabinet minister will be taken into account."
