On getting the responsibility of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development in the Union Cabinet, former Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, "The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is progressing under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. Over the past decade, the government has shown improvement in this sector. In our Sankalp Patra, we have outlined a road map for farmer welfare and rural development, and we are committed to advancing these initiatives."
Shiraj said further, "The priority of the Prime Minister is farmer welfare, so today he first signed the file to release the installment of Kisan Samman Nidhi... There will be continuity in the work."
Shivraj Seeks blessings of veteran leaders
A day after taking oath as a Union Cabinet Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid courtesy visits to the veteran political leaders of the nation, accompanied by his wife Sadhna Singh, and sought their blessings.
On Monday, before starting afresh as a Union Minister for the first time, he sought blessings from former Deputy PM Advani in New Delhi during his courtesy visit. Prior to it, he also paid a visit to the residence of former President Ram Nath Kovind.
Additionally, Chouhan visited BJP President JP Nadda, who is currently a Cabinet colleague, and Governor Mangubhai Patel of Madhya Pradesh.
Quality of processing, packaging, and marketing of farm produce is crucial: Paswan
Meanwhile, Union Minister Chirag Paswan, on being made the Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, said, "Whatever responsibility has been given to me by the Prime Minister, I will fulfill it and I have been given the responsibility of such a department which I had also mentioned in my vision document."
Paswan said, "In an agricultural country like ours, the quality of processing, packaging, and marketing of farm produce is crucial. This not only creates employment opportunities on a large scale but also holds significant importance for the future. This will not only provide employment opportunities in a large number in the country, but the future belongs to this department. Today is the time of processing, I think it has a huge scope in India and it will contribute greatly to the development of the country."
On the other hand, Ajay Tamta, Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways in the new Council of Ministers, shared his appreciation for being entrusted with an important ministry after working closely with Nitin Gadkari ji in the past.
On being given the post of Minister of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Bhagirath Chaudhary said, "We will listen to the farmers and do whatever is necessary for their welfare."
