What Sitamarhi JDU MP Devesh Chandra Thakur Said About Muslims-Yadavs, His Own Party MP Demanded Apology From Him

Newly elected JDU MP from Sitamarhi, Bihar, Devesh Chandra Thakur has said that Muslims and Yadavs did not vote for him, so he will not do anything for them.

His statement is being criticized. Not only RJD, but his own party's Banka MP Giridhari Yadav has also demanded an apology from him.

At an event in Sitamarhi, Thakur said, "Now I will not do any work for Yadavs and Muslims. Because they did not vote for me. If Yadavs and Muslims come to our place, they are welcome. They will be treated with due respect, even offered tea and snacks, when they call on me. But I will not take up any of their problems."

Speaking to journalists after this event, Thakur said, "I still stand by what I have said, I have been saying this for a long time. I have worked for the people without any discrimination for 25 years."

However, he did not give any reasoning as to how he reached the conclusion that Yadavs and Muslims did not vote for him.

Reacting to Thakur's statement, RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said, "We condemn Thakur's remarks. His remarks are derogatory, casteist and anti-religion. This shows his feudal attitude."

At the same time, his party MP Giridhari Yadav has said that he condemns Thakur's statement and he should apologize immediately.
