Madhya Pradesh: How Kailash Vijayvargiya's Visionary Initiative Turned Barren Pitru Parvat into Lush Green Forest in Indore? What new goal he is now setting his sights on?

Indore, the bustling metropolis of Madhya Pradesh, is making headlines with an ambitious campaign to plant 51 lakh saplings. This initiative comes as a response to the intense heat wave that has impacted the entire country.

Madhya Pradesh's Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava have spearheaded this campaign, rallying the city's residents to join forces. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also commended this significant effort, highlighting Vijayvargiya's leadership.

This is not the first time Indore's leaders and citizens have demonstrated their commitment to environmental causes. Vijayvargiya has a long-standing vision for environmental improvement, dating back to his tenure as an MLA and Mayor of Indore. One of his major projects was the transformation of a barren mountain on Depalpur Road near Gandhinagar into a lush green area.

Vijayvargiya envisioned creating a forest on this desolate land and installing a massive statue of Hanuman ji. To achieve this, he pledged to abstain from eating cereal until the forest and statue were established, a vow he fulfilled by organizing a city-wide feast upon their completion.

Vijayvargiya urged citizens to plant trees in memory of their ancestors

Vijayvargiya urged Indore's citizens to plant trees in memory of their ancestors on this hill. The community responded enthusiastically, planting trees and receiving receipts for their contributions from the Municipal Corporation. This initiative has turned a once barren hill into a thriving forest, symbolizing the community's respect for their ancestors and their commitment to environmental conservation.

A powerful message to state leaders

Pitru Parvat offers a powerful message to Madhya Pradesh's leaders: despite their busy schedules, politicians can and should devote time to social and environmental causes. Vijayvargiya's successful transformation of Pitru Parvat demonstrates that with determination and community involvement, even the most desolate areas can be revitalized. There are many similar mountains and plateaus across Madhya Pradesh that could benefit from such efforts, potentially transforming the state's landscape.

Aiming to surpass Assam's record

Vijayvargiya is now setting his sights on a new goal: breaking Assam's record for the most saplings planted in a single day. Known for his determination and ability to achieve his goals, Vijayvargiya aims to plant 51 lakh saplings in the Indore region this monsoon season, aligning with Prime Minister Modi's 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign. To support this effort, he has enlisted various social organizations, resident associations, entrepreneurs, and government bodies. The preparation is well underway, with over 40 lakh pits already dug at selected sites.

In a recent event at Pitru Parvat, 3 lakh saplings were planted, marking the official start of the mega campaign. Additional planting activities have taken place in the Revati Range, Bijasan area, and other locations, with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav participating. The Border Security Force (BSF) has taken on the responsibility of nurturing the saplings in the Revati Range and Bijasan area.

Vijayvargiya's ambitious plan aims to surpass Assam's record of planting 9.20 lakh saplings in a single day by planting 11 lakh saplings on one day. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been invited to witness this monumental event, scheduled for July 14. The enthusiasm for this campaign has only grown, bolstered by the recognition and praise from Prime Minister Modi.

A testament to the power of community action

Indore's mega plantation campaign stands as a testament to the power of community action and visionary leadership. By rallying together for a common cause, Indore's citizens are not only making their city greener but also setting a powerful example for other regions. This campaign highlights the importance of environmental stewardship and the impact that dedicated individuals and communities can have on their surroundings.
