Ukraine, while continuing its attack in the Kursk region of Russia, has demolished a bridge over the Seym river.
Some experts believe that the Ukraine's actions in Kursk region could lead to escalation of war in the region. They say Russia could use full force to free the territory occupied by Russia.
Russian officials said that due to this operation of the Ukrainian army near the city of Glushkovo, a part of the city has been cut off from the rest of the place.
The bridge that the Ukrainian army has demolished was used to supply essential goods to the Russian soldiers. But now the demolition of the bridge may hinder it.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that our soldiers are strengthening their position in Kursk.
According to Zelenskyy, in exchange for the Kursk region, they can also demand from Russia to leave the occupation of Ukrainian territory.
Earlier, Ukraine's top commander Oleksandr Sirsky had said that the Ukrainian army has set up its military office in the Kursk region of Russia.
According to Oleksandr Sirsky, the army continues to attack Russia from this office. In a video posted on social media, General Sirsky can be heard saying that this office has been built in the area which is under Ukraine's control.
On the other hand, Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov reacted to this move of Ukraine and said that we will take necessary steps to protect the people of the Kursk region.
Ukraine also claimed to have gained an edge in Russian areas on Thursday. According to General Sirsky, Ukrainian soldiers have penetrated 35 km inside the Kursk region. They have captured 1150 sq km area, including 82 settlements.
This is Ukraine's most dangerous attack on Russia so far. But Ukraine says that it is not interested in capturing Russian areas.
