Haryana Assembly Election-2024: BJP MLA Lakshman Napa resigns, many leaders angry over ticket denial, is there a rebellion in saffron party?


Haryana Assembly Election-2024: BJP MLA from Ratia in Haryana Lakshman Napa has resigned from the primary membership of the party.


In the upcoming Haryana assembly elections-2024, BJP has given ticket to former Sirsa MP Sunita Duggal from Ratia assembly constituency.


BJP released the first list of 67 candidates on Wednesday for the 90-seat Haryana Vidhan Sabha elections.


After this, many leaders in the party, angry over ticket denial, resigned.


Sukhveer Sheoran, other leaders resign


Among those who resigned are Haryana BJP Kisan Morcha President Sukhveer Sheoran, Shamsher Gill, BJP Youth Executive Member from Sonipat and Assembly Election Incharge Amit Jain.


Sukhwinder Sheoran has been a former MLA of Bawani Khera and at present he was handling the responsibility of the post of President of Haryana BJP Kisan Morcha, but as soon as the names of the candidates were announced by the BJP on Wednesday, he announced his resignation.


He wrote a letter to Haryana BJP President Mohan Lal Baroli and announced his resignation. He has also sent this letter to the state CM Naib Singh Saini, Organization Minister and National President of Kisan Morcha.


BJP has included 25 new faces in the first list, while tickets of many MLAs and ministers have also been denied.


State Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini will contest from Ladwa. Anil Vij has been given ticket from Ambala Cantt, Captain Abhimanyu from Narnaund, Arvind Sharma from Gohana and OP Dhankar from Badli.


Shruti Chaudhary, who recently joined BJP from Congress, has been given ticket from Tosham seat.


Second list will come soon: Khattar


Former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said that 'The second list of BJP candidates will come soon. Nominations have started from Thursday and everyone will submit their nominations between 5-12. The parliamentary board will clear the remaining 22-23 seats very soon.'


Recently, the date of voting for Haryana assembly elections was changed. The Election Commission has changed the date of voting for the single phase elections in Haryana to 5 October. Earlier, voting was to be held on 1 October.
