Mist Spray Drone will be used to control dust and air pollution in Delhi, know how it will work

Air pollution in Delhi has significantly worsened, particularly following Diwali. To address dust pollution in heavily affected areas and gather data on major pollutants, the Delhi government plans to acquire three "mist spray drones." Officials provided this update on Thursday.

Officials announced that these drones will be utilized to spray water at 13 designated pollution sites to enhance air quality. They also stated that this initiative will help in settling dust particles, decreasing the levels of particulate matter (PM), and mitigating the negative impacts of air pollution on public health and the environment.

An official from the Delhi Government's Environment Department stated, "The process of selecting a vendor to operate three drones for a 15-day trial in hotspot areas has begun." Officials said that while the pilot study is initially set for 15 days, the duration and number of drones may be extended if the results are satisfactory.

Delhi was the most polluted city in India in the month of October, where the average level of 'PM 2.5' (fine particle pollution) in the air was 111 micrograms per cubic meter. This information has come to light from a new analysis, according to which most of the cities of the National Capital Region (NCR) were included in the top 10 of pollution.
