Mandla (MP): Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav greeted and wished on the historic event of Tribal Pride Day in Mandla on the 150th Jayanti of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. At Semerkhapa Eklavya Adarsh Residential School in Mandla, 1521 local tribal artists, students, public representatives, officers and employees together gave grandeur to the ceremony by giving an attractive and enchanting presentation of "group Saila folk dance.On this historic occasion, Public Health Engineering Minister Smt. Sampatiya Uike also encouraged the tribal brothers by performing folk dance.
In the ceremony organised on Tribal Pride Day, Minister Uike performed an attractive dance on the famous folk song "Tarana Mor Na Nana-Nani", bringing alive the tribal culture and traditions. The people in attendance filled the atmosphere with slogans like "Bhagwan Birsa Munda Amar Rahe" and "Janjatiya Gaurav Sanskriti Amar Rahe".
The basic spirit of "Saila Dance"
"Saila Dance" is a major folk dance of Indian tribal society, which is performed by the tribes of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand states on the occasion of celebration and collective enjoyment. "Saila Dance" reflects the collective life of the tribes. It displays the uniformity of collective rhythm and coordination. This dance not only expresses joy, but also expresses gratitude towards nature and gods and goddesses.
This dance is usually organised after harvesting. "Saila Dance" is a symbol of the togetherness of tribal society, cultural identity and their deep intimate relationship with natural life. In this dance, the participants form a circle, holding each other's shoulders as they step in a coordinated rhythm. This dance is a symbol of companionship with nature, togetherness and cultural unity.
