A significant event, the Sanatan Dharma Sansad, took place in Delhi on Saturday, gathering Hindu saints and Jain religious leaders to discuss and advocate for the establishment of a Sanatan Board. The call for this board, led by prominent spiritual figure Devkinandan Thakur, aims to protect and preserve Hindu traditions and practices in India. Thakur emphasizes the need for a unified body that parallels the Waqf Board, providing a structured means for safeguarding Sanatan Dharma.
The Call for Participation and Support
Devkinandan Thakur alleged that Lord Krishna's presence remains confined beneath the stairs of Delhi’s Jama Masjid, and he called upon the assembled devotees to honor this memory by building a grand temple in Mathura. He further announced his intention to seek support from political parties across the country for the formation of the Sanatan Board.
Build a grand temple for your Kanhaiya in Mathura
During the Dharma Sansad, Thakur expressed a commitment to addressing the issue of freeing Shri Krishna Janmasthali in Mathura from longstanding controversies. He spoke to the gathering, challenging the attendees' conscience to awaken to the need for a grand temple in honor of Lord Krishna. “If your conscience is alive, build a grand temple for your Kanhaiya in Mathura,” he proclaimed, motivating the crowd to support this cause.
Call for Marriages within Hindu Families
Devkinandan Thakur also advocated for a policy aimed at preserving Hindu traditions within families. From the platform of the Sanatan Dharma Sansad, he urged that laws should be instituted to ensure that Hindu girls marry within Hindu families. This call for marital unity within the Hindu community was accompanied by a broader appeal to strengthen traditional Hindu values and heritage.
Concerns Over Govt Control of Religious Institutions
Thakur further highlighted issues with government control over Hindu temples, citing the Tirupati temple as an example. According to Thakur, government management has led to compromises on religious purity, with claims of animal fat being found in temple prasad. He argued that the sacred offerings must align with Hindu values and that a dedicated Sanatan Board would prevent such incidents. He questioned the legitimacy of government oversight in religious institutions.
Advocacy for a Sanatan Board to Protect Hindu Traditions
Central to Thakur’s message was the need for a Sanatan Board to protect Hinduism from external influences and to curb conversions. He argued that the Sanatan Board would serve as a safeguard against the declining numbers within the Hindu community, which he warned could eventually pose a threat to India’s cultural identity. Thakur also emphasized the revival of Gurukul traditions under the aegis of the Sanatan Board, aiming to strengthen Hindu teachings and heritage for future generations.
Boycott of Halal-Certified Products
In an assertive stance, Thakur called for a boycott of products with halal certification, stating that practices associated with halal do not align with Hindu beliefs. “What is halal for some is haram for us,” he argued, suggesting that Hindus should refrain from supporting businesses with halal certification.
Thakur expressed concern that items contradictory to Hindu beliefs might find their way into temple offerings, urging attendees to protect religious sanctity. His rallying cry, “Abhi Nahi To Kabhi Nahi” (Now or Never), resonated through the crowd, encapsulating his message that Hindus must act decisively to secure their rights and preserve their traditions.
