IND vs AUS: Nitish Reddy's father became emotional on his century; what did Gavaskar say?

The reaction of Team India batter Nitish Reddy's father and family has been revealed following Reddy's century in the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar has also praised Reddy.

Australia had scored 474 runs in their first innings. In reply, India has scored 358 runs by losing nine wickets in their first innings till the end of the third day today.

On the third day of the fourth Test being played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the young all-rounder entertained the fans with a fireworks of runs. Nitish Reddy scored the first century of his Test career and pulled India out of a difficult situation in the Melbourne Test. 21-year-old Nitish is on the crease after scoring 105 runs off 176 balls. Nitish Reddy hit 10 fours and 1 six while batting at a strike rate of 59.66.  

A very emotional moment for us: Nitish's father

In a video, his father Mutyala Reddy says that this is a very emotional moment for the family.

He said, "I am incredibly proud of Nitish for this achievement. His first century in international cricket has filled us with pride and joy. Nitish is a fan of Virat Kohli. His dedication and hard work have led him to this moment."

Nitish Reddy's mother also looked emotional in this video. She said that she is very happy. Journalists asked Nitish's sister what gift the family will give him. On this she said, "What gift will we give him. He has given us a gift.''

On the third day of the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India has scored 354 runs after losing nine wickets.

Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar have played the KEY role in bringing this score to this level.

Nitish Kumar Reddy scored a century in 171 balls in which he hit ten fours and a six.

As soon as Nitish Reddy raised his bat after scoring a century in the historic stadium of Melbourne Cricket Ground, his father Mutyala Reddy became emotional. This is Nitish Reddy's debut Test series.

On the other hand cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar said, "This century by Nitish Kumar Reddy must rank as one of the greatest hundreds in the history of Indian cricket."
