Delhi Assembly Elections-2025: Aam Aadmi Party convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has reacted to the allegations made by against him by BJP about Pujari, Granthi Samman Yojana.
Kejriwal posted on Instagram, "BJP people have been abusing me since yesterday, ever since the Pujari, Granthi Samman Yojana has been announced."
He asked, "My question to them is - will the country benefit by abusing me? You have governments in 20 states. You have been in power in Gujarat for 30 years. Why have you not respected the priests and granthis there till now? Come on, do it now? I have shown the way to everyone."
Kejriwal said, "Instead of abusing me, why don't you implement it in your twenty states, then everyone will benefit? Why do you abuse me?"
Arvind Kejriwal has recently announced that if his party wins the elections, then the priests of temples and the granthis of Gurudwaras will be given an honorarium of Rs 18,000 per month.
After this announcement by Kejriwal, Delhi BJP called him 'Election Hindu Kejriwal'.
The Delhi BJP said, "Kejriwal has been providing salaries to Imams for the past decade. He has permitted liquor shops to operate near temples and Gurudwaras. His political actions have been anti-Hindu. Now suddenly he remembers the priests and granthis with elections approaching."
BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said during a press conference on Tuesday, "Arvind Kejriwal misled the Maulvis by promising them Rs 18,000. But the salary to Imams has not been paid for the past 17 months. Now, the same Arvind Kejriwal appears to be planning to deceive the priests and granthis."
Gaurav Bhatia said, "Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Atishi Marlena are not even sparing the children now. On December 30, the National Human Rights Commission ordered the removal of the video posted by Kejriwal and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Marlena on social media platform X, in which children are shown participating in political campaigns."
Earlier, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee President Harmeet Singh Kalka had also expressed doubts over Kejriwal's announcement.
