Opposition's attack on Amit Shah continues, what did Priyanka Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav say?

Leaders of opposition parties continue to target Home Minister Amit Shah for his comment on Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar.

Congress MP from Wayanad Priyanka Gandhi told reporters on Thursday, "The BJP has insulted Baba Saheb in Parliament. After that this morning they have tampered with Baba Saheb's picture on their social media. Who will trust them?"

"They say that they do not want to end reservation. They do not want to change the Constitution. They have no respect for Baba Saheb who is the creator of the Constitution. They are saying this about him."

Akhilesh also corners Shah

On Thursday morning, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also cornered the Home Minister and BJP in an X post.

He wrote, "What happened is not only an insult to Baba Saheb, but also to the Constitution given by him. This is another extreme point of BJP's negative mentality. Today the country has come to know how much bitterness the BJP people have towards Babasaheb.”

RJD President and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav also expressed his reaction on the whole episode and demanded resignation from Amit Shah.

On Tuesday, Amit Shah had made a statement on Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar during his address in Parliament.

He had said, “Nowadays taking Ambedkar's name has become a fashion. If you had taken God's name this much, you would have got heaven for seven lives.”

Since his statement, opposition parties have been attacking BJP and Amit Shah. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had demanded resignation from Amit Shah while holding a press conference.

On Wednesday, Amit Shah also presented his side while holding a press conference. He had said that the Congress party is presenting facts in a distorted manner, this is condemnable.

Amit Shah had said that Mallikarjun Kharge has joined this controversy under pressure from Rahul Gandhi.
