Madhya Pradesh: Takiya Masjid, over 250 houses being razed amid tight security for Mahakal Lok expansion in Ujjain


Ujjain: A major action is being taken today regarding the expansion of Mahakal Lok. Here today 257 houses including a mosque are being demolished for expansion. The mosque which is going to come under the purview of CM Yadav's bulldozer action is named Takiya Masjid.


Bulldozers are currently operating on these houses this Saturday morning. The police had informed residents last Friday that they needed to vacate their homes. Notices had been issued to the homeowners whose properties are being bulldozed. Additionally, a heavy police presence has been deployed to prevent any disturbances during this operation. The administration has taken measures to ensure that the process proceeds smoothly and peacefully.


6 bulldozers, 6 Poklane deployed


Today, 6 bulldozers, 6 Poklane and 50 employees of the encroachment removal gang have been deployed here to demolish the houses. Today, this bulldozer action will be taken on those buildings which fall within 500 meters of Mahakal temple. Let us tell you that, for the past several years, there was talk of bulldozer action in this area.


Various government and legal action have already been taken to remove these houses. Notices have also been given, whose time limit has expired today. At the same time, the High Court has rejected the petition of the residents. 


Compensation of 66 cr to be given


It is reported that a total compensation of Rs 66 crore is to be given to the residents. Out of this, compensation of Rs 32 crore has already been given.


After receiving the notice, many people have already vacated their houses. During this entire action, the administration has also appealed to the residents to follow the instructions and maintain peace.


This area is now to be developed under the Mahakal Lok expansion plan. Under this, about two and a quarter hectares of area is to be vacated. The main objective of the Mahakal Expansion Plan is to provide proper development of the temple area and better facilities.
