Madhya Pradesh's capital, Bhopal, has achieved a remarkable feat on the occasion of National Youth Day by creating the world's largest 3D rangoli.
Spanning an impressive 18,000 square feet, this artistic marvel has secured its place in the Golden Book of World Records. The rangoli, crafted at Shaurya Smarak, measures 225 x 80 feet and was made using 4,000 kilograms of eco-friendly natural colors.
The Rangoli features portraits of Swami Vivekananda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The talented artists behind this masterpiece were feted with certificates from the Golden Book of World Records.
CM Mohan Yadav inaugurated
The vibrant 3D rangoli, unveiled on Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary, captivated visitors and became the center of attraction. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the event and actively participated by adding colors to the rangoli.
The artwork also conveyed a powerful message aligned with the motto of the Yuva Shakti Mission: "Samvad, Shakti aur Samriddhi" (Dialogue, Strength, and Prosperity). Congratulating the lead artist Shikha Sharma Joshi and her team, CM Yadav expressed pride in the rangoli's achievement, calling it a symbol of Indian culture and creativity.
CM lauds the rangoli as an inspiration for the youth
Speaking on the occasion, CM Yadav highlighted the exceptional skills of Madhya Pradesh’s daughters, emphasizing their role in preserving and showcasing Indian art forms. He lauded the rangoli as an inspiration for the youth of the state, symbolizing pride and innovation. The event was graced by State Minister (Independent Charge) Krishna Gaur, MLA Bhagwan Das Sabnani, and other prominent dignitaries.
Shikha's 13th world record
The rangoli was brought to life by renowned Indore-based artist Shikha Sharma Joshi and her team, who completed the intricate design in just three days. Known as the "Rangoli Queen," Shikha has an illustrious career decorated with accolades, including the Excellence Award in Nepal and Thailand, and a Gold Medal at Jaipur’s International Youth Festival.
This rangoli marks Shikha's 13th world record, further cementing her legacy. Over the years, she has taught art to nearly 70,000 children worldwide, starting her journey as an art educator while still in school.
'I am honored to dedicate it to Swami Vivekananda'
Expressing her gratitude, Shikha said, "This is my 13th world record, and I am honored to dedicate it to Swami Vivekananda Jayanti. Our team has not only brought glory to Bhopal but also to the entire nation."
With this extraordinary creation, Shikha and her team have etched their names in history, showcasing the power of creativity and cultural pride on a global stage.
